Pompeii & Olive Oil Experience

We depart at 8:30 am from your accommodation to reach Pompeii or Herculaneum, the famous Roman cities buried by the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 AD. A private official guide licensed by the regional tourism office will be waiting for you, ready to lead you through the ruins for a couple of hours. With them, you can get wonderfully lost without ever truly losing your way wandering the alleyways of this two-thousand-year-old city, discovering windowless houses, breakfasts of milk, honey and focaccia, and the everyday life of a Roman metropolis.

After the ruins, the journey continues at Frantoio Gargiulo in Sant'Agnello where you will taste and enjoy the characteristics of the olive oil such as its soul: fragrance, color and taste. nestled among the olive-covered hills of Sorrento, you'll step into a story that began in 1849, when the Gargiulo family's love for the land inspired them to create an oil mill and share the goodness of their Extra Virgin Olive Oil with the world. Today, the third generation with Raffaella, Francesco and Antonino carry that passion forward with the same dedication and pride.

Here we will walk for about fifteen minutes among the centenary olive trees, discovering the secrets of Sorrento oil production by admiring the tools of the past and later also those of the present, which were used for pruning and pressing the olives, you will see all the steps leading to the production of their delicious oil.

 The guided tour ends at the tasting table, where you'll sample all the varieties of extra virgin olive oil, from DOP to lemon, black truffle, Sorrento orange and chilli pepper, paired with delicious local bread, along with expert advice on how to use each one in your own kitchen.
